ENGINEER PAUL OMOTAYO BAMGBOSE-MARTINS

Engineer Paul Omotayo Bamgbose-Martins was born on 3rd June, 1957 in Lagos. He completed his Primary Education at St. Mary Private School in Lagos in 1969 and finished his Secondary Education at St. Gregory College also in Lagos in 1974.

He obtained his First Degree, Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) as well as a Master of Science Degree (MSc.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos majoring in Highways/Transportation.

His constant quest for knowledge led him to embark on several post qualification programs; Local and International such as Infrastructure Development at University of Birmingham United Kingdom, Accelerated Development Programme at London Business School, Infrastructure Development in a Market Economy at Harvard University, John F Kennedy School of Government and Advanced Management Programme in ASCON, Badagry. He is a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), Member of Institute of Highway Transportation (MIHT) and a Registered Engineer (COREN).

Engineer Bamgbose-Martins is an astute Civil Engineer with Over Thirty Three (33) years of Professional Experience as Public Servant and he has served The Lagos State Government in various capacities such as Area/Resident Engineer, Director of Planning and Design, General Manager Lagos State Ferry Service Corporation, Executive Secretary and Later Vice Chairman Lagos State Roads, Bridges and Highway Infrastructure Private Sector Participation (PSP) Board. He rose through the Public Service ranks to become a Permanent Secretary in 2005 and headed at different times, Ministry of Rural Infrastructure, Ministry of Housing and Ministry of Works and Infrastructure from where he retired in 2015.

During his post Retirement, he engaged himself in various Consultancy Services as well as Project Development until 2018 when he joined BOS/KOH Team as a Member of the Strategic Economy Committee and then later Member Transition Committee during which he was Team Lead for the Traffic and Transport Management Subcommittee.

He was appointed by the present administration as a member of the Lagos State Project Finance and Process Compliance Audit Committee, an assignment that was successfully concluded.

In January 2020 Engr. Paul Omotayo Bamgbose–Martins was appointed as the Honourable Commissioner, Special Duties & Intergovernmental Relations by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, where he served for almost three years before his redeployment as the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

He is married with children.
