PHYSICAL PLANNING MINISTRY WELCOMES NEW SPECIAL ADVISER 


Management and staff of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development on Thursday welcomed Dr. Olajide Babatunde, the newly sworn-in Special Adviser (SA) to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on E-GIS and Planning Matters.


Receiving Dr. Babatunde at the Ministry, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, described the new SA as someone whose enthusiasm, interpersonal and organisational skills put him in a vantage position to serve as a good complement to the State Executive Council, Ministry and its agencies.


Salako added that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu formalised the appointment of the Special Adviser, having merited the honour through his valuable contributions to the development of the State during the last year.


Also speaking at the event, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe said that the Special Adviser is a worthy addition to the Physical Planning and Urban Development family which has a lot to benefit from his commitment and passion for planning matters.


In his response, the Special Adviser on E-GIS and Planning Matters, Dr. Olajide Babatunde, thanked the Governor and leadership of the Ministry for the cooperation he has enjoyed so far and pledged his support for the upliftment of planning in the State.


Other dignitaries at the event include the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, Mr. Bode Agoro; Permanent Secretary/Surveyor-General, Surv. Olutomi Sangowawa; General Manager, Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike and the General Manager, Lagos State Planning and Environmental Monitoring Agency, Tpl. Daisi Oso.


Others are the General Manager, New Towns Development Authority, Tpl. Olakunle Aboyeji and the Executive Secretary, Lands, Ms. Lolade Ajetunmobi among others.


Dr. Babatunde is a graduate of Urban and Regional Planning with an additional certificate in Land Administration and Geographical Information. He also has a Master’s Degree in Development and Planning, and a PhD in Research and Development Planning.
 
His professional experience spans academia, industry and public administration at the national level.
